MONDAY (11/3)
- Inside the Actors Studio (Bravo, 8pm): Season 15 premiere. “A conversation with Oscar-winning actress Goldie Hawn, who retraces her career journey and discusses her books, her tattoo and her mother’s death.” James Lipton will also retrace the moments when Hawn’s career started dying a slow death.

- First Class All the Way (Bravo, 9pm): Series premiere. “Sara whips up a high-end getaway to Paris and Monaco for a clique of privileged women, but there’s a bump in the road when a passport goes missing.” I just hate to see a privileged woman miss out on a trip.

Thursday Ratings: 30 Rock Gets Post-Palin Bump
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, ER, Grey’s Anatomy, My Name Is Earl, Survivor, The Office, Ratings,
Politics has been kind to ratings-starved shows lately. On Wednesday, Pushing Daisies received a nice bump thanks to Obama’s primetime ad. Now 30 Rock has Tina Fey’s recent popularity to thank. Last night, the NBC comedy saw its highest numbers ever. But a minor ratings boost wasn’t enough to help NBC. By night’s end, CBS was still on top in both the viewers and the demos.
8pm
- Survivor: Gabon (13.1 million, 4.1/12 in 18-49) was off by 300,000.
- Ugly Betty (8.6 million, 2.5/7) was down a notch.
- My Name is Earl (6.2 million, 2.4/7) did about the same; Kath & Kim (5.5 million, 2.3/6) picked up 500,000.
- Smallville (4.2 million, 1.7/5) remained steady.
- A Kitchen Nightmares* repeat (1.5/4) served 3.6 million.

Sunday Ratings: No Strikeout for FOX

It looks like the fourth time was still a charm for FOX. Although it was down 28% from 2007’s numbers, yesterday’s game between the Phillies and the Rays was the best of the series so far. Despite competition from ABC, Game 4 of the World Series gave its network wins in both categories last night.
8pm
- Approximately 15.5 million watched the Philadelphia Phillies take Game 4 of the World Series (5.1 in 18-49).
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (12.2 million, 3.9/10) nailed down another 1.4 million.
- The Amazing Race (9.7 million, 2.9/7) had 1.5 million less.
- NBC‘s broadcast of The 40-Year-Old Virgin attracted 4.3 million (1.9/5).
- Valentine (846,000, 0.3/1) actually did about 96,000 better than last week.

MONDAY (10/27)
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): “Angela asks Sylar to save Peter.” As if anyone believes that Peter - or anyone else - would really die at this point.
- Jon & Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 9pm): “The Gosselins get ready for a trip to Hawaii, where Jon and Kate will renew their wedding vows.” This time around, they’ll be paying to feed 8 more guests.
- One Tree Hill (CW, 9pm): “Lucas’ second novel proves successful.” Let’s see if we can say the same for Chad Michael Murray‘s second wedding.
- My Own Worst Enemy (NBC, 10pm): “Edward’s trip to Mexico to gain intel on Russian weaponry doesn’t go as planned.” Nothing about this show is going as planned.

Apparently a World Series just isn’t a World Series if the two teams aren’t names people care about. Although the numbers weren’t horrible, the ratings for Game 2 fell behind several Thursday programs. By night’s end, CBS was on top again in both categories.
8pm
- Survivor: Gabon (13.4 million, 4.4/12 in 18-49) picked up 500,000.
- Approximately 12.8 million watched Game 2 of the World Series (8.1/13).
- Lindsay Lohan helped Ugly Betty (8.7 million, 2.8/8) round up 500,000 more.
- My Name is Earl (6.3 million, 2.4/7) was down 200,000; Kath & Kim (5 million, 2.2/6) fell by 1 million.
- Smallville (4.2 million, 1.7/5) was up slightly.

Thursday Ratings: Life on Mars Goes from Best to Third
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Games, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, ER, Grey’s Anatomy, My Name Is Earl, Saturday Night Live, Survivor, The Office, Ratings,
Despite having the best debut for any new drama last week, ABC saw no Life on Mars yesterday. The freshman series dropped 27% in the demos and placed third in its hour. Meanwhile, Eleventh Hour actually showed improvement and helped CBS maintain its dominance over Thursdays.
8pm
- Survivor: Gabon (12.9 million, 4.2/2 in 18-49) had 400,000 torches snuffed.
- Ugly Betty (8.2 million, 2.6/8) downsized by 300,000.
- My Name is Earl (6.5 million, 2.6/8) slipped by 600,000; Kath & Kim (6 million, 2.5/7) shrunk by 1.5 million.
- Smallville (4.1 million, 1.7/5) did the same as before.
- Hole in the Wall (1.4/4) returned to 3.6 million.

MONDAY (10/13)
- Chuck (NBC, 8pm): “Sarah’s ex-flame and partner, Bryce Larkin, makes an unforeseen return and goes undercover with Sarah as an overly affectionate couple.” Unforeseen return? I predicted he would come back last year!
- Little People, Big World (TLC, 9pm): Season 5 premiere. “Matt travels to Baghdad to help dwarf children in need of medical attention.” By doing so, he has now milked new meaning out of the show’s title.
- Samantha Who? (ABC, 9:30pm): Season 2 premiere. “Sam teams with her mom in a dance competition against Regina’s nemesis (Cybill Shepherd) and her partner, who just happens to be a ringer.” Why do I always find myself rooting against Cybill Shepherd?
- My Own Worst Enemy (NBC, 10pm): Series premiere. “The implant in Henry Spivey’s brain that separates the two identities begins to malfunction, leaving each side fighting for dominance.” On one side, we have the Christian Slater who excelled in Heathers. On the other side, we have the Slater who stunk in Mobsters.

Despite all the built up excitement for last night’s premieres, the numbers were down across the board. In the end, a two-hour Grey’s Anatomy (down 17% from this time last year) helped ABC win the viewers and the demos.
